A new home is a new journey. It’s also one of the biggest financial decisions you will ever make. By understanding the process from start to finish, you can more easily navigate the ins and outs of homebuying. We’ve been doing this work for decades, so we’ve put together an overview of the key steps involved with building and buying your dream home.

We’ll work with you to identify the features, floor plan, and surrounding amenities that best suit your needs. After selecting your floorplan and homesite, you will sign your purchase agreement and pay your earnest money deposit.

Within 30 days of signing, you’ll need to secure a mortgage commitment. To make it easier, we’ve partnered with four trusted lenders, although you’re free to choose any lender you prefer.

Build Your Home

This can take between 4 and 6 months, but throughout the construction of your home, your builder and community sales manager will keep you up to date on the progress and key milestones. You’ll meet four times with your builder to learn about the construction of your home.

Closing

The closing process includes a meeting with your builder for a new home orientation, a final walkthrough, signing the paperwork at the closing attorney’s office, and taking the keys to your new home!
