In our Heart Behind the Homes series, we are pleased to introduce you to the people who guide, design, build, and support each Brookline homeowner’s journey.
Their care and respect for both the craft of homebuilding and the people they serve reflects what Brookline calls “the Brookline way”—a commitment to building with intention and creating homes that become the foundation for everyday life.

"We all help each other out a lot here ... it's a tight-knit team, and everyone really cares about the work we do."
The Brookline Homes team is more than just a group of builders, designers, and real estate professionals. They’re a close-knit family dedicated to helping people find their place in the world.
For Fabricia, Brookline’s Accountant and Closing Coordinator, that mission hits especially close to home.
Having navigated major life transitions, international moves, and the journey of buying a house all on her own, Fabricia brings a deep sense of empathy, dedication, and warmth to every homebuyer she helps guide across the finish line.
We sat down with Fabricia to learn more about her path to Charlotte, her evolving role at Brookline, and what "home" truly means to her.
A Journey Defined by Courage and Resilience
Raised in Brazil, Fabricia moved to the United States as a teenager, where she began building a new life with the support of her older brother.
"My brother is like a father figure to me," Fabricia shares. "I moved here by myself to live with him and go to school."
After spending over a decade in New Jersey, she reached a point where she felt ready for a fresh start. Tired of the cold weather, high cost of living, and fast-paced culture, she set her sights south. Having previously visited a friend in Charlotte, the city’s energy, natural beauty, and booming growth left a lasting impression.
"I was feeling burnt out and just needed a change of scenery," she recalls. "I took a chance and moved to Charlotte for a fresh start. The world is so big, and there are so many places to explore. I didn't want to just live in one place my whole life."
Finding Her Place at Brookline Homes
Upon arriving in Charlotte, Fabricia began applying for positions and quickly caught the attention of several employers. Despite having multiple opportunities to consider, the decision became clear after interviewing with Brookline Homes.
"I decided to go with Brookline because I just loved the environment," she says. "It's laidback and supportive. Plus, I get to bring my dog to work three times a week!" That dog is Hendrix, a tiny 8-pound toy poodle who has quickly become a beloved honorary team member.
Fabricia initially joined Brookline two years ago as a bookkeeper. Demonstrating her versatile skill set and eagerness to step up whenever the team needed a hand, she spent over a year managing Brookline’s social media channels.
Known for her willingness to jump in wherever needed, Fabricia has supported multiple areas of the business throughout her time at Brookline. Her adaptability, attention to detail, and genuine care for others have made her an invaluable resource to both teammates and homebuyers alike.
Her dedication and willingness to take on new challenges led to an expanded role as Brookline's Accountant & Closing Coordinator.
Fabricia now handles everything from high-level financial reporting and vendor relationships to directly guiding buyers through the final steps of their homebuying journey, scheduling orientations, coordinating with lenders, and ensuring closing day runs smoothly.
"We all help each other out a lot here," Fabricia says. "It’s a tight-knit team, and everyone really cares about the work we do."
From Renter to Homeowner: Why Brookline’s Mission Is Personal
When asked what sets Brookline apart from large national homebuilders, Fabricia points directly to the personal touch and genuine care woven into every step of the process.
"We try to be as involved and personal with our homebuyers as possible," she explains. "We offer great incentives and work closely with buyers to connect them with trusted lenders and walk them through what can otherwise be an overwhelming process."
That personal connection isn't just theoretical for Fabricia. This past year, she achieved a massive personal milestone of her own: purchasing her very first home in Charlotte, utilizing one of Brookline’s preferred lending partners.
"I’ve moved so many times throughout my life, from Brazil to Jersey, and then was renting here," she says. "To finally be settled and know, 'This is my house now, I’m making roots' is such an amazing feeling."
Life Beyond the Office
When she isn't managing closings or keeping Brookline’s finances balanced, Fabricia is out enjoying everything her adopted hometown has to offer.
A former competitive swimmer back in Brazil, she loves spending time outdoors near the water, frequently taking Hendrix out on her paddleboard at the nearby Latta Nature Preserve. She’s also become an avid concertgoer, taking full advantage of Charlotte's vibrant music scene and accessible venues.
As for her favorite Brookline community?
"I love Vanguard at Vermillion in Huntersville," Fabricia says without hesitation. "The townhome villas are so unique and beautiful, and you’re less than five minutes from downtown Huntersville. It’s just a great area."
For Fabricia, home represents stability, belonging, and a fresh start. After building a life across two countries, starting over in a new city, and becoming a homeowner herself, she understands just how meaningful that journey can be. It's a perspective she brings to every buyer she helps welcome home.
