Tour on Your Time: Viewing a Brookline Home Just Got Simpler with Self-Guided Tours
Brookline Homes • August 26, 2026
Step by step of how NterNow works.

Finding your next home shouldn't depend on someone else's schedule.

Life is busy, and fitting in one more appointment isn't always realistic. Today's home search happens in the small moments between everything else: over morning coffee, after the kids are in bed, or while waiting in the school pickup line. Touring a home should be just as flexible.

That's why Brookline Homes now offers self-guided home tours. Instead of planning your day around sales office hours, you can visit select homes when it's convenient for you, take your time exploring, and experience the home on your terms.

A home is meant to be experienced

Photos and virtual tours are a great place to start, but they can only tell you so much.

You can't feel the natural light streaming through the windows on a Saturday morning, or tell whether the kitchen island is where everyone will gather during the holidays. You can't hear how quiet the neighborhood is on a weekday afternoon or picture yourself unwinding on the back patio after work.

Those are the moments that matter, and a self-guided tour gives you the freedom to slow down and notice them.

Go ahead and open every closet. Walk through the pantry one more time. Stand in the living room and think about where the Christmas tree will go. Picture your dog running through the backyard, your kids doing homework at the kitchen island, friends gathered around the table for dinner, and where you'll settle in to unwind after one of those long days when all you want to do is take a long exhale. That's when a house starts to feel like home.

Buying a home is one of the biggest decisions you'll ever make. Don't rush the moment. Take your time and decide if it really feels right for you.

Tour the way you want to

One of the biggest advantages of a self-guided tour is exactly what it sounds like: it's yours.

There isn't a schedule to keep up with or a presentation to listen to. You can linger in the rooms that catch your attention, skip ahead, circle back, or simply stand still for a minute and imagine everyday life unfolding around you.

Bring your partner, your parents, or the kids. Compare notes as you walk through the home. Ask yourselves the questions that really matter.

Can we picture family dinners here?
Will this become our favorite spot for morning coffee?
Is this where we'll celebrate birthdays, host summer cookouts, and make memories for years to come?

Sometimes, those answers don't come from viewing a floor plan or speaking with a sales person about the details. They come from simply soaking up the space.

Simple, secure, and built around your schedule

While the experience feels effortless, it's also designed with your security in mind.

Before your visit, you'll complete a quick identity verification and receive a unique, one-time access code that's valid only during your scheduled tour. The entire process takes just a few minutes, giving you the flexibility to tour on your own schedule while helping keep every Brookline home safe and secure.

Once you arrive, simply enter your access code to unlock the front door and step inside. From there, you can take your time exploring each room without feeling rushed or waiting for the next group to arrive. When you’re ready to leave, make sure the doors leading to patios, porches, or garages are closed and locked. Shut the front door firmly, and the bolt will close automatically — it’s as easy as that!

Our team is here when you're ready

At Brookline Homes, we've always believed buying a home should feel personal, not pressured.

Self-guided tours don't replace our team. They simply give you another way to experience our homes. Explore on your own terms, revisit the spaces that stand out, and take all the time you need to picture life there.

When you're ready to talk about floor plans, financing, communities, or next steps, we're here to help. Until then, we'll give you the space to discover what feels right.

Because finding the right home isn't about checking boxes. It's about walking through the front door and thinking, “I could see myself living here.”
